Do you also see UX flaws everywhere?
Yeah. Me too.
Being a UX designer means that we look for the same patterns and problems in our everyday lives as well. Do you ever do this too? Some things I see drive me crazy.
The other day we went shopping. While driving around for a free parking spot, I was confused by the new paint on some of them. Take a look:
The photo I took
From a distance, I was absolutely convinced that these new spots were for disabled people but painted differently because they couldn't reuse the old signage. So, I parked farther away from the entrance.
However, as I walked by, I discovered they were actually for families with babies — just like us!
The solution would’ve been so simple:
Make the outlines of the stroller continuous.
Use a different fill color.
I've been thinking about reaching out to the mayor's office about a similar issue with the digital monitors at our bus station. On one side, it shows the bus arrival time, and on the other side, it displays the current hour!
It's annoying because you can't see both the arrival time and the current time at the same glance.
These little things cause so much frustration.
This story might be different from the others, but I wanted to share my frustration with you (sorry about that!). It *really* shows why we need to promote design thinking everywhere.
Do you have any ideas on how we could do that? Maybe you've faced a similar situation yourself.
Reply if you do, I read every message.
Aaand have a pixel-perfect day!
